FUN donates to aid quake victims

The Filipino United Network - USA has donated half a million pesos (P500,000) to alleviate the suffering of the victims of the 7.2 magnitude Bohol earthquake on October 15, 2013 that devastated many parts of the province and nearby cities in the Visayas.

FUN - USA coursed the donation through the Linkapil disaster fund, a program of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas in Manila, chaired by Commissioner Mely Nicolas.

In a Memorandum of Agreement between the CFO, represented by its Commissioner, and FUN – USA, represented by its Chairman, Philip S. Chua, MD, FACS, FPCS, the half a million peso contribution to the Linkapil fund was designated to aid about 1,500 families (roughly 4,500-5,000 persons), and also provide dozens of tents to be used as temporary makeshift schools for children in Bohol.
